Structured as a short story collection for the stage, our chronicle follows two brothers on an epic river journey, as they age from 14 to 92, intercut with scenes from their lives that shape the people they become.

 

DJ Hills (they/them)

Writer

DJ Hills (they/them) is a cross-genre writer for the page, stage, and screen. Their plays include Horsegirl & Cowdaddy (the Wilma/Soho Rep), The Caelumids (Ashland New Plays Festival), our chronicle (Breaking the Binary), and TRUNK BRIEF JOCK THONG (The Queer Ensemble; shortlist, Yale Drama Series). DJ’s plays have additionally been developed with The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Playwrights Conference, Seven Devils Playwrights Conference, The Workshop Theater, Great Plains Theatre Commons, and Boston Court Pasadena. Will Davis

Director

As a director and choreographer, his work has been seen Off-Broadway at Signature Theatre, Encores!, Roundabout Theatre, MTC, MCC, Playwrights Horizons, Clubbed Thumb, and Soho Rep. Regionally, his work has been seen at Williamstown Theatre Festival,  La Jolla Playhouse, Baltimore Center Stage, Shakespeare Theater Company and Long Wharf Theatre.  He received a Helen Hayes Award for Best Direction for his work on Colossal at the Olney Theatre Center, was nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award for his direction of Men on Boats at Playwrights Horizons, and is the recipient of a Princeton Arts Fellowship. Davis is the Artistic Director of Rattlestick Theater.

 

Samuel Yates (they/he)

Dramaturg

BTB Festival debut! Selected creative/disability access dramaturgy: Midnight (Off-Broadway), It’s A Motherf**cking Pleasure (Woolly Mammoth), In Pieces (MSU NMTW), #'s and Pivot (Great Plains), La Casa de la Laguna (Gala Hispanic Theatre). They’ve worked in the literary offices of the Abbey Theatre (Ireland) and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. Eli Gutierrez (he/they) is thrilled to be a part of OUR CHRONICLE! Broadway: Billy Crystal’s 860. Off-Broadway: I’m Assuming You Know David Greenspan (Atlantic Theater Company); All Nighter (MCC); False Steps (St. Clements); No Singing in the Navy (Playwrights Horizons). Other notable credits include: Socrates, Our Town, Hedda Gabler (The Juilliard School); two summers at DanceAfrica (BAM); Present Tension (Ensemble Studio Theatre) and three summers at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center including Horsegirl and Cowdaddy. He is a proud alum of Sarah Lawrence College and Juilliard’s Stage Management Apprenticeship

Reed Northrup (he/him)

Reed Northrup is an actor and writer based in New Jersey. FILM/TV: Kevin Smith's THE 4:30 MOVIE, Logic's PARADISE RECORDS, David Mackenzie's RELAY, Sav Rodgers's PANCAKE SKANK premiering 2027. He has worked with theaters such as Breaking the Binary, National Queer Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, The Guthrie, Ars Nova, Ensemble Studio Theatre and more. As a writer he has a series in development with Good Walk Entertainment, a feature in development with Artists First, and a short film slated for pre-production late 2026. MFA Yale School of Drama, BA Sarah Lawrence College.
